In 2016, we had been raising kikos with great success for 5 years. We decided it was time to upgrade our breeding program and focus on purchasing the very best 100% New Zealand Kiko buck we could find. We wanted everything and he had to be BIG. Sherri and Charles Reece at Dean Hill Kikos had it all and with the records to back it up. RDH Sequoia stood out over all the young bucks he was with. At 4 months old he was already huge and was bigger than most 6 month olds. Twelve days before he turned 8 months old, he weighed 94 lbs. Before he turned a year old, he bred 21 does and gained 22 lbs. At 13 months old he gained 30.9 lbs. in one month to weigh in at 147.5 lbs. He is on track to be as large as his sire, RDH Indian Outlaw. At 15 months, he was up to 178.2 lbs. When he turned 2 years old he weighed in at 242 lbs. The large photo was taken at 3 years and 3 months old. He is over 350 lbs. now and no longer fits onto our digital scale.
RDH Sequoia is dual registered with NKR and AKGA (Papers below in PDF format)
His sire, RDH Indian Outlaw is an own son of MRG Outlaw who was the high selling buck at the 2012 NKR Spot Light sale and also the sire of the winner of the 2013 and 2014 Oklahoma Forage Based buck test. RDH Indian Outlaw is also a full brother to Outlaw's Goldmine, the high selling buck at the 2014 Appalachian Kiko Invitational sale. At 14 months old RDH Indian Outlaw weighed 180 lbs. At a year and a half, he was a whopping 215 lbs. He was 2 years old when we saw him and the size of a heifer. He's also very docile which is a plus with a buck of his size.
His Mother AFS Roho's Donna is an own daughter of ECR Roho Grande, a son of ECR Rusty. And she's out of an own daughter of GFI El Conquistador. Donna has nothing but big genetics on both sides of her pedigree.
We have culled our doe herd very hard and have some of the best commercial, percentage, purebred and New Zealand does for Sequoia that we could find. We have raised 2 kid crops with Sequoia and he has never disappointed us, His kids grow out quick, have height, length and depth. Several of his daughters have been retained for breeding with RDH Once In A Blue Moon. From what we have seen, this cross should be tremendous. We also have exported Sequoia daughters, twice, to St. Johns, Antigua for improvement of the island goats.
Quality is affordable here. We do have a waiting list. Give us a call to be included.
